Meet The Team
Mary Neal
In business, she is grateful for the dynamic group of women who are of paramount significance to her in building a family/team culture at Rivé Nail + Skin Care Spa. She is grateful that each of them shares the same vision in ensuring the spa's success. The spa has seen leading-edge growth since 2012 because of this shared vision.
In her personal life, married to Mark since 1983, he has played cheerleader, advisor, handyman, electrician, plumber, and a plethora of other roles. She is a proud mother of two adult children, Daniel and Alexandra. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, exercising, trying "foodie restaurants," more shopping, cooking, various creative outlets, bicycling, hiking, and her new loves—the grandchildren. Mary tries to spend any available time with her three grand-kiddos. "Why wouldn't I? It's the only time I get to laugh, dance, sing, and play, all in the same day."
She adores her adopted pup, Romeo, from Turks and Caicos, and her two acquired kitties, Tazzie Lou and Mr. Beau Jingles, from each of her adult children!
Mary brings over 40 years of experience to her trade as a graduate of Pittsburgh Beauty Academy, with a degree in Civil Engineering and an associate's degree in Architectural Drafting and Design. Mary has dabbled in several other side businesses over the years, all of which have rounded out her contribution to the business. Attention to detail and an artful eye have been the sources of her success. She is extremely passionate about empowering women and about her trade. She operates with the sentiment that she truly cares about her work and her clients. "It's not about nails. It's about the relationships that have been built over the years with the amazing women who have been placed in my life, and wanting to make them feel special."
Julia Straka
Julia is a licensed Beautiful Image Microcurrent Specialist and Aesthetician. After receiving her degree in Radiology and working as an X-ray technician, she decided it was time for a career change. She trained with the Beautiful Image Company and became specialized in Microcurrent facial sculpting. Julia later received her aesthetic license from the South Hills Beauty Academy to expand her knowledge of the skin.
Married to Jim since 2004, they were blessed with two daughters, Jillian and Justina. She enjoys spending time with her family and watching her daughters grow through each stage of their lives. When Julia is not working, she finds time to volunteer at her daughters' school and her church, staying up to date on the latest trends in skincare. Growing up in the Pittsburgh area, Julia's grandmother was an integral part of her life and now resides in Murrysville. In addition to spending time with her family, she also enjoys shopping, shopping, and shopping, fine wines, great places to dine, and her fur child, Nugget.
Julia is a beautiful person inside and out, very personable and easily makes friends wherever she goes. In a recent StrengthsFinder Evaluation, her top attribute was "developer," and her second was "empathy." She truly chooses to see the good in people and help them grow and develop to their potential. Her personal strengths have created a work ethic of dedication and helping each one of her clients reach their skincare goals, highly valued by clients and staff.
Melissa Smith
A Murrysville resident, Melissa is a licensed cosmetologist but loves doing nails and waxing. That is her focus here at Rivé Nail + Skin Care Spa. She has been in the business for 25+ years—recently selling her business in Bloomfield, where she owned and operated a mid-sized salon for the past 12 years. She brings a lot of helpful wisdom and a fun-loving, professional specialness to the spa!
When she is not at the spa working or hanging out, she enjoys watching her youngest son, Caden, play in his myriad of sports in any given season. She loves spending time with both her boys, Taylor and Caden, as well as her extended family and her little sidekick and spa mascot Yorkie-Poo, Bella! Bicycle riding, bubble baths, snuggling up in her pajamas in her comfy bed, and yes, shopping and spending time with her grand-dog, Thor, are among a few of her leisure-time loves.
Empathy being her top strength in a StrengthsFinder Evaluation, Melissa started at Rivé Nail + Skin Care Spa in February 2017. She exudes compassion in every aspect of her existence—in her communications with her clients, as a mother, wife, and friend. Her laugh gets everyone laughing. We love all her quirkiness.
Izabella Hodil
In the industry for 3+ years, Izabella is our new addition to the Rivé Family, and it's as if she has been with us from the start—"She fits right in" with our team. She is eager to soak in all the knowledge she can to grow into an amazing aesthetic and nail professional. Being newer to the industry, she is ahead of the pack when it comes to her work. We can already see that she definitely displays great potential. Izabella adds a youthful vibe to the environment and is loved by all our clients!
With her goal to someday own her own business, she doubles as a spa coordinator on Tuesdays and Thursdays so that she can learn the behind-the-scenes part of the business. She is very ambitious, personable, professional, and vivacious. As with all of the team at Rivé, she enjoys shopping, shopping, shopping, spending time with her boyfriend Nick, bubble baths, and cozy clothes in a nice cozy space to relax and sleep.
Tara Hepler
Tara is a licensed aesthetician with a passion for skincare and beauty. With over 25 years of experience in the industry, Tara has dedicated her career to helping clients achieve their best skin through personalized treatments and skincare routines. Tara believes that everyone deserves to feel confident in their skin, and takes a holistic approach to skincare, focusing on both the health and appearance of the skin. She is always continuing her education to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in skincare technology and techniques. She has expertise in facials, chemical peels, resurfacing, and permanent makeup. Tara has spent her last 25+ years working in medical aesthetics facilities, giving her an edge on the science behind skincare.
